GOAT SKINS® — The Authenticated Collectible System

What GOAT SKINS® Is — and What It Isn't

GOAT SKINS® does not make jerseys. It makes artifacts.

The distinction matters more than it might appear. A jersey is manufactured in runs of thousands, sold through retail chains, and replaced next season. An artifact is a different category of object entirely — one produced in a controlled, numbered series, authenticated at the individual piece level, and designed to hold cultural significance beyond its season of release.

Every GOAT SKINS® piece is limited to 999 editions globally. That number is not a marketing figure. It is a hard production limit. When 999 are produced, production closes permanently. There is no restock, no second run, no "extended edition." The collector who holds piece 247 of 999 holds something genuinely scarce — not artificially scarce by policy, but structurally scarce by physical production reality.

The Authentication System

Every GOAT SKINS® artifact carries three authentication layers that work together to make each piece irrefutably verifiable.

The NFC Chip. Embedded inside every artifact is a unique NFC (Near Field Communication) chip. This is the same technology used in modern contactless bank cards — it cannot be cloned, cannot be transferred, and cannot be deactivated. Holding any NFC-enabled smartphone near the chip — no app required — triggers an instant connection to the GOAT SKINS® verification system.

The Ownership Registry. The NFC tap opens the GOAT SKINS® registry page for that specific piece. The registry displays: the edition number, the collection name, the production date, and the complete ownership history from production to present. Every transfer of ownership is recorded permanently. A collector can verify not just that a piece is authentic, but that it has never been reported lost or disputed, and can trace its full chain of custody.

The Numbered Certificate. Every artifact ships with a physical numbered certificate of authenticity. The certificate number corresponds exactly to the physical piece number embedded in the NFC chip and stitched into the artifact. The certificate cannot be transferred to another piece — it is specific to the one object it was issued for.

Together, these three layers make a GOAT SKINS® artifact among the most verifiably authentic objects in the collectibles market.

The Official Licensing

GOAT SKINS® artifacts are not fan-made. They are not inspired-by. They are officially licensed.

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ Host City Collection is produced under official FIFA licensing. The imagery, marks, and branding are legally authorised. The collection is part of the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ licensed product programme — the same programme that governs all official World Cup merchandise globally.

Additional licensing covers DC Comics and Warner Bros. — two of the most culturally significant intellectual property portfolios in existence. Official licensing means every artifact is produced with legal authorisation from the rights holder, carries their official marks, and contributes to the provenance that makes a collectible worth holding.

The Collections

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ Host City Collection. Sixteen host cities. Sixteen separate editions. 999 pieces per city. One officially licensed wearable artifact per host city of the most watched sporting event in human history.

The 2026 World Cup is hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico — the first World Cup ever held across three countries simultaneously. Cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Kansas City, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Toronto, and Vancouver each have their own edition. 999 pieces. Officially licensed. NFC authenticated. Numbered.

The DC Comics Collection. An officially licensed series produced in partnership with DC Comics. Limited to 999 pieces. NFC authenticated.

The Warner Bros. Collection. An officially licensed series produced in partnership with Warner Bros. Limited to 999 pieces. NFC authenticated.

The Collector's Perspective

Serious collectors understand that authentication and scarcity are not marketing concepts — they are the determinants of long-term value. The sports memorabilia market has been transformed by the realisation that authenticity must be verifiable, not asserted. A jersey signed by a player but with no chain of custody documentation is worth a fraction of the same jersey with verified provenance. A trading card in a sealed grade case from a credible grading company commands a premium over the same card in a plastic sleeve.

GOAT SKINS® applies this principle to wearable artifacts at the point of manufacture — not retroactively. Every piece leaves the production facility already authenticated, already numbered, already registered. The collector who acquires one receives something the market has consistently rewarded: a verified, scarce, officially licensed artifact tied to a cultural moment of permanent significance.

How to Acquire

GOAT SKINS® artifacts are available exclusively through goatskins.com. They are not sold through third-party retailers, resellers, or marketplace accounts authorised by GOAT SKINS®. Any listing on a third-party platform should be verified through the NFC chip before purchase — the chip will confirm whether the piece is genuine and whether the listed edition number is accurate.

Due to 999-piece limitations, collections sell out permanently. Collectors can join the GOAT SKINS® waitlist at goatskins.com to receive first notification when new collections open.

How to Verify Your Artifact

  1. Enable NFC on your smartphone: Settings → NFC → On (or Settings → Connected Devices → NFC on Android; iPhone XR and later have NFC always enabled)
  2. Hold the back of your phone against the inside rear panel of the artifact where the NFC chip is embedded
  3. A notification will appear on your screen — tap it
  4. The GOAT SKINS® verification page opens for your specific piece

The verification takes under 30 seconds. It works offline. It works anywhere in the world. It works permanently — the NFC chip does not expire.
